60s velvet slouch hat - Gem。Vintage oversized slouch cap crafted in rich black velvet with dramatic drape and sculptural volume. This piece features a beret-inspired silhouette rather than a traditional flat beret, with extra gathered fabric that creates a soft, slouchy shape. An ornate feather accent and decorative medallion detail add theatrical flair and old-world character. Made in Italy for J. Peterman Co., known for historically inspired and editorial designs. The interior is lined in acetate and labeled size Large. This hat leans costume-adjacent in the best way—ideal for collectors, stage wear, Renaissance or historical styling, dramatic fashion, or statement accessorizing. Condition notes: Pre-owned vintage condition. Interior lining shows visible wear and discoloration consistent with age and use, particularly inside the crown and lining (see photos). Exterior velvet shows light lint and handling wear typical of velvet fabric. Feather embellishment and medallion remain intact.
